Commercial leases

McMichael represented a commercial landlord in an appeal to the Pennsylvania Superior Court following the grant of summary judgment in a lease dispute over the exclusivity provision in a commercial real estate lease.

McMichael was lead trial counsel representing the defendant in an adversary proceeding in the United States Bankruptcy Court and on appeal to the District Court arising out of the lease of space at a convention center.

McMichael was part of a team that represented a hotel chain in a contract dispute over its management of a luxury hotel in Philadelphia.

Title dispute

Appellate Law Group represented Appellees in the Superior Court of Pennsylvania in a dispute over title to property in Sullivan County, Pennsylvania, where the surface and subsurface estates had been divided over a century earlier. Virginia McMichael worked closely with trial counsel to develop the issues on appeal.

The Superior Court dismissed the appeal on the grounds that the order on appeal did not resolve all the claims and issues in the case and it was therefore not a final order under Pa.R.A.P. 341(b).
